TURN KEY I 10

The I10 is a rotary switch—also known as a program selector switch or selector—that can be configured for up to 6 circuits and provides step-by-step control for home appliances and industrial equipment.

On the 10-position rotary switch, the control lever closes a predefined combination of contacts in each position it is turned to, and this state is maintained until the next position is selected. Since it can be manufactured with circuits ranging from Model 1 to 6, it meets the needs of applications requiring the switching of multiple independent circuits on the same housing. The number of positions can be defined from 0 to 12 or more; thus, in devices where it functions as a program selector switch, the step sequence is configured directly according to the functional diagram. The pin material can be selected as plastic or metal, depending on the button design.

The product is rated to operate under a load of 16 A at 250 V and 10 A at 400 V; it offers a switching life of 10,000 cycles under the first condition and 30,000 cycles under the second. The T150 temperature class and the glass-fiber-reinforced PA66 GF25 V0 housing allow the switch to be used in applications with continuous thermal loads, such as ovens, heaters, and motorized equipment. Wiring is performed via 6.3 x 0.80 mm tab terminals. The protection class is IP00; since the product offers no protection against the ingress of solid objects or water, the device must be installed within its own enclosed housing.

The I10, with its PA66 GF25 housing—which features a wire resistance of 850 °C and a V0 flame rating—is designed for devices with high fire safety requirements.

The product is designed and tested in accordance with the requirements of the EN 61058-1 standard, which covers switches used in household and industrial equipment. The value of 850 °C obtained in the glowing wire test defines the behavior of the housing and insulation material against ignition; the T150 class defines the ability to operate at ambient temperatures up to 150 °C. The 10,000- and 30,000-cycle life ratings indicate that the rotary switch withstands repeated actuation under both specified load conditions. The IP00 protection rating requires that the switch be installed inside a closed device enclosure.
